Notation on birth record

Post by lilbees »

Cannot read the notation on this birth record. I believe it is for a marriage of Maria Vittoria Fiumara.

Thanks for any assistance.

"Nel dì 26 ottobre 1881 si è celebrato matrimonio in questo Comune al numero 208 (!?) tra la controscritta Maria Vittoria Fiumara con xxxx yyyy nato in Napoli"
"On October 26th 1881, in this Commune was celebrated the marriage, recorded at no. 208 between MVF and xxx yyy born in Naples".
I'm sorry, but I can't understand the name.
I'll try again later to think over it.

Will try to access the marriage record to see if that would be clearer. Hope you can make more sense out of the notation.

All I can decipher for marriage is Naples. No records for this marriage in Castellammare di Stabia where Ma. Vittoria was born. Checked several years in addition to 1881.

I located the arrival manifest for Ma. Vittoria with her children. The surname of the children is GUASCO. I also located the manifest for her husband Ciro. But, have not located any census records for any of them.

Children listed:
Ma. Carmela
Carmelo
Giovanni
Matteo

I am wondering if they are the Guasco's in California.

No matter how hard I try, I cannot quite see "mille ottocento ottantuno"

Are we quite certain that it says 1881?

mille ottocento sessantuno is correct but not 1881! It is 1861.

So sorry for the typo.

No, that is the date of birth.

I am looking at the marriage notation which everyone else seems to think is October 26, 1881. I am just not certain that I can make out 1881 ("mille ottocento ottantuno") there.

Boy! That will teach me not to be awake this morning. I looked at the birth act.

No help on the marriage notation. I do know the name but not sure about the year of marriage.
