read handwriting: italian "ditto"?

Post by JJRR » 02 Feb 2012, 08:12

I am trying to decipher the handwriting in an 1833 death index from Pietrelcina. The words in the green circle appear to represent "repeat the above item" or "ditto." Can anyone help me confirm the meaning and spell it for me? I am not even sure what the first letter is! I'd appreciate your help! Thanks.
