birth record #46 - Edmundo Nicola Francesco Purcaro

on the second page, I read father is listed as Francesco Dottore Purcaro.

I am assuming this is not a middle name. Is Dottore translated literally as a doctor (as in medical doc)? Or is it some other title?

Also, I read his birth date as 6 Nov 1905. Is this accurate?

Thanks for your help,
Donna

The infant's father was a medical doctor, as the word medico appears after the father's age in the record. From what I understand, anyone who graduates with a degree in Italy may be called a dottore, but usually there is additional info which indicates what that person's course of study was.

Birth in this record took place on Nov 13, 1908.

To be precise... he was a surgeon ["medico chirurgo"] :-)
