death record

death record #9 parte 2, Ernesto Purcaro

if someone could summarize this record, please.

i am wondering if he died outside of Ariano .... maybe Salerno (as that is mentioned later in the document) and the beginning of the record is all this official recording and transferring of information.

I know his wife is Ma.Grazia Miedico, and he was 41 and a shopkeeper at the time of death.

However, I am confused about the actual date of death (21 May 1890 maybe ??) and the importance of the date 15 Feb 1888(?) (were the t's not crossed?)

And, his mother's name - Carlotta Ali???.

Thanks so very much

I will try to help remove some of the confusion :-)

The date of death for Ernesto was 15 Feb 1888, and a copy of the record was received by the official in Ariano on 23 May 1890. The copy of the death record was sent from the Comune of Nocera Inferiore in May 1890. It stated that Ernesto was 41, born in Ariano and resident of Ariano, the son of deceased Filippo and of deceased Carlotta Ali(????) - It stated that he was SINGLE.
The Tribunale in Salerno determined on 30 April 1890, that there should be recorded in Parte 2 of the current year, a rectification of the record of death; and it should read "husband of Maria Grazia Miedico, and not single..." as was written in the act from Nocera Inferiore .

Hope that helps :-)

thank you tessa, it relieves the confusion.

i have his marriage record of 1887, and when I read "celibe" after his mother's name, I was more lost.

With your summary, I will be able to go back over the document and understand the script and words with more insight.

i continue to learn from you. thank you again.
