re: Domenico's occupation....it looks to me like 'caffettere'. however, in the occupations list there is 'cassettiere'

any thoughts on which it might it?

He was a "caffettiere", a man who worked in, or owned a "caffè". Nowadays, we would say a bar, so, a barman.
