Need help reading a professione

I am trying to understand the professione of my great-great grandfather. On the majority of his children's atti di nascita, he is listed as contadino. However, on two of his children's atti di nascita there is another word. I am trying to read and translate this word, but I am having some diffuculty.

The word looks like it could be:
ronrado
rourado
courado
conrado

This man may have been a member of the Urban Guard (La Guardia urbana) in Calabria. The word may be related to that. Any ideas?
