this marriage record mentions Nicola Purcaro and the date 4 Jan 1816. Is this Nicola's date of death? I cannot locate the act in the 1816 death records so I am wondering if I misunderstand that the date signifies.

I read it the same way... Nicola died on 4 January of the current year (1816)
