Is this a duplicate post of the record you asked about the date for?

Yes. I thought I had the translation of the rest correct, but now I am not so sure.

Record #147
Dated 24 SEPTEMBER (as corrected at other post) 1859
Appearing before the official was Maestro Francesco Cerami, age 47, carpenter, residing in this town, to present a male child who he declared was born to Giuseppa Barbera(?), his legitimate wife, age 26, residing in this town and to the declarant, age as above, profession as above, residing as above, on day 23 of the above stated month, current year, at 8 AM at the place they live…

Right column states that Leonardo Cerami was baptized on the 24th day of the “said month and year” in the parish of this town.

Thank you. Both parents were deceased when Leonardo Cerami later married in 1882. However, the digitalized records on the Mormom site have no death records for the years 1865 to 1883 for Petralia Soprano, but have them before and after those years. Do you have a source where those death records can be found? I've been stymied trying to find Leonardo Cerami's grandparents.

Have your tried writing directly to the comune?

Ufficio dello Stato Civile
Comune di Petralia Soprana
Piazza del Popolo
90026 Petralia Soprana PA
ITALY

Help with letter of request...

You can rent and view microfilmed records for the comune at your nearest LDS Family History Center. Here is the catalog number for the film that includes deaths from 1864-1885

Morti 1864-1885 -- Indice decennale dei morti 1885-1896 -- Morti 1886-1910 -- Atti di cittadinanza 1866-1884 -- Indice decennale degli atti di cittadinanza 1885-1896 -- Atti di cittadinanza 1888-1909 -- Pubblicazioni di matrimonio 1862-1865 -- Atti diversi 1862-1865.

I checked with Family search and they don't have digital nor film records of that 20 year gap 1865-1883. I've written to Petralia Soprano in the past and never received a response.

You need to order the film that I posted above. There is a monthly fee. You can then renew for an additional month if you need to. When you pay for a third month, you can keep the film on loan at the center indefinitely.

Teresa, this is what the Mormon site told me on an email reply:

"Thank you for contacting FamilySearch regarding the missing death record years - of 1865 - 1883 in the Petrilia Soprano Italy, Palermo, Termini Imerese, Civil Registration (Tribunale), 1862-1910.

We searched the Family History Library catalog to see if there were any death records for 1863 - 1883, but there were not. We also checked our catalog, and the records were missing there also."

So they are saying that they checked and that they do not have those records for those years on film or anywhere else.

Hi Ron,

When you inquired about death record years, did you identify the Film # I posted.
It clearly states in the catalog listing for Petralia Soprana that the deaths (morti) for years 1864-1885 are on that film - in fact, they are the first records on that film.

Very strange response from LDS...

Listing in the catalog...
Family History Library International Film #2013165

includes the following:
Morti 1864-1885 -- Indice decennale dei morti 1885-1896 -- Morti 1886-1910 -- Atti di cittadinanza 1866-1884 -- Indice decennale degli atti di cittadinanza 1885-1896 -- Atti di cittadinanza 1888-1909 -- Pubblicazioni di matrimonio 1862-1865 -- Atti diversi 1862-1865.

Is it worth it to you to just order the film and check it?
