Buona Sera!
I am excited to have found my Great Great Grandparents Marriage Record: Antonio and Caterina Iaquinta Abruzzino. I am sad because I cannot make sense of Antonio's mother's surname. Her name is Angela ?????. My family is from San Giovanni in Fiore in Calabria.
I have tried to attach an image to show you her name. If I should fail and you wish to try to give me a hand, please feel free to e-mail me directly and I will send you the image. totoprice@neo.rr.com
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer!
Ciao! (I have started to take an Italian class so I'm a slow with it)

Re: Handwriting on Marriage Record
Oh, interesting.
Theresa, the portion of the document that I got was not the Caterina's mother's name at all.
mfjp's scan shows the name though. It looks like Guzzo.

Lots of Guzzo people in Calabria.

Thanks everyone for all the replies!
I think Donna found me a few months ago. Some of her family lived next door to my family in Clarksburg, WV, US. She's helped me out alot and brought me back here.
I have my Great Great Grandmother Caterina Iaquinta parents as being Orsola Guzzo Iaquinta Adamo and Giuseppe Iaquinta. Orsola after Giuseppe's death married Thomas Adamo. Later, in 1920 she came to America as a widow.
Antonio's parents - I had nada on. I pretty much figured his father was Francesco and Angela (from this document) for his mother made sense. I have an Aunt Angeline but Angela's last name was so iffy on here. The "P" could have been a "T" the closed letters could be anything from "a" to "e" to "i" to "o" and the "g" could be a "g" just like in Angela or a "j" which could be an "i" or a "z". I just knew that a spelling would make more sense to someone working in the names all the time. I am taking an Italian class - I've taken only 6 so far and I've pretty much been able to use that to deciphered the rest of the marriage record.
Thanks to the wonderful people who posted my images! Not sure why I had so much trouble with it!
I'm going to check out the Ellis Island manifest - never know where someone may later fit in!
Grazie!
