Hello again! First off I want to thank everyone for helping with all of my translations, they have been so helpful!!! I know that this document is for my Francesco Sarnese bc I can see the name of his wife Maria Santone. Could someone try and translate? The names of his parents are incredibly hard to read. Also, can you tell if it says that Maria, his wife, is alive or deceased? It will help in my search for her death certificate next. Thank you so much! Suzanne

Death translation for Francesco Sarnese
Re: Death translation for Francesco Sarnese
This is certainly a very difficult record to translate, as the handwriting is so awful. I can see that the first declarant who reported the death was Nicolangelo Sarnese, age 58, a peasant/farmer in the town who was a germano of the deceased. The word germano can be used for brother or an individual who was closely related, as far as I know. The record is dated Jan 20, 1837 but Francesco, age 50, died yesterday on the 19th. I can't decipher the father's first name. The mother's first name is also giving me a problem, but her surname was Mignona. The deceased is referred to as the marito (husband) of Maria Santone and not vedovo, so she was still alive at the time of his death. That's all I can decipher so far.scraig32 wrote:Hello again! Thank you Erudita! This is way more then I could have hoped to get. Would you be able to look at the index entry for the death? It has his mother and father's names there. Thank you!!! #182

The index helps. Father is given as Adamo and mother's first name is Monaca. Both parents deceased.scraig32 wrote:Thank you Erudita! This is way more then I could have hoped to get.
