could Maria's surname be Siqueira? I don't know what follows that-il ?

il cognome della fu Maria e` possibilmente 'Siqueira." Dopo il cognome e` la parola "il" ma l''ultima parola (????)

Purtroppo è più semplicemente "Maria S'ignora il cognome"...

No, non è il cognome... :)..."s'ignora"= "si ignora" ("non si conosce")
