help reading an email

Post by Anizio » 23 Nov 2015, 12:26

Usually I do not have trouble with normal Italian but I received an email from an archive saying they found something that may interest me relating to my great-great grandfather's grandfather, however I can't really understand the description they gave:

carteggio relativo alla nomina a medico segreto di Sua Santità

If anyone could explain to me what it means I would appreciate it.
It seems like it says my ancestor was named as a secret physician to the Pope, but I'm not entirely sure.

TIP: When asking for records from Italy, do NOT ask for an "estratto." ALWAYS ask for a "copia integrale." A photocopy of the original Act will contain more information

You are right. It seems they have documents related to that.
