Help with a line in Genestrerio baptism records

Post by Biff83 » 12 Aug 2016, 21:00

I'm asking for help again relative to some information on early 19th century baptism records, specifically the line which includes the phrase "e loco Pradell? communis Genestreris" which I believe translates as "from the place of Pradell? of the town of Genestrerio" Does this refer to where the parents of the child live within the town and if so what 's the name of that section--Pradell? Record for Domenica Ceppi, middle record.

Thanks, Biff.

Thanks Erudita,

We are looking for the birth record of Domenico Ceppi, born about 1811, who married Caterina Bianchi Bancarotta (you were able to help with their marriage record in determining that she was a foundling). We did not find Domenico's birth record in the Genestrerio baptismal records but the information you posted points us to the Mendrisio records which are on another microfilm which we'll search.

Graze mille,
Biff
