The record attached is from marriage processetti, it is the first document and i'm not sure what it is or says. The page that lists what all of the documents in the packet are, this is supposed to be the atto di nascita for the groom, Giovanni Alianiello but i don't see his name listed, can someone translate this?

No, I'm not familiar with the town of Barile. I deciphered the handwriting and then checked to see if the surname ever existed in the town and saw that it had and still does.

Tell me about it, all this research I'm doing for this particular family is for my cousin, her grandmother from Barile married my Great Uncle so I don't even have any family in Barile. My family is from northern Caserta. I can spend all day doing research, it's quite addictive. I don't have a problem reading the Italian documents, but the ones written in latin are the ones i can't read.

This research certainly is addictive. I started in the early 1990s because my younger son needed a simple tree for a social studies class. After that, the research got out of hand, when cousins started coming out of the woodwork. You obviously know how that goes. The Latin documents are very difficult because of the many abbreviations they contain but, in time, you can probably learn to read them too. I still struggle with them, but have had a lot of help from some of the native Italian volunteers on this forum, who have studied Latin for many more years than I ever did. Two years of studying Latin in high school just didn't do it for me. I really started from scratch with these Latin church documents, as soon as they became available online for some of my husband's ancestral towns.
