Re "Contrada"
Here is an explanation from Pippo: "Contrada" was also meant as a hamlet out of main village, and it often consisted of a few houses along a street. So "contrada" can substantially be the same as "street". I noticed that in various towns what were called "contrada"s in 1800 are now streets in the village/town (maybe they grew since then, and incorporated the hamlet).
Well done on the translation Mike, it's easy for me because I am so familiar with the names now.
Another edit: Sorry Mark, I've called you Mike

Hi, Angela-
Thanks for the correction to the Avino name (I was confused by it) and also for posting that explanation by Pippo. Very helpful stuff. And no worries about my name!
Mark
