Need help translating birth and marriage record to help solve mystery!

Post by GenealogyFan77 »

Hi! I need help translating a few records to figure out the mystery of my great great great grandfather, Domenico Imbornone. His parent's names are listed differently on different records. I will upload them to show you.
Here is his marriage to Francesca Gallo. Note the parent's names:

Here is his death record. Note the parents names on this as well:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/12PxZe9 ... sp=sharing

Here is an "impostor" with the same name and the same parent names. This is the big part of the mystery: https://drive.google.com/file/d/10c31lC ... sp=sharing

Here is a child born to Francesca Gallo and Domenico Imbornone to prove the relationship status:

I'm wondering when you translate if you could point me to the right information. Any help would be most appreciated.

Sincerely,

Andrew Gillim

Hello Andrew!

There seems to be an error in one or more of the records...

Here is the birth of Domenico Imbornone, the son of Don Francesco Imbornone, a commercial agent, and Maria Teresa Mangiotta on 28 December 1855. (#533)
http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0

And*** the birth of Domenico Imbornone, the son of Ignazio Imbornone, a barber, and of Francesca Daidone(sp?), on 16 October 1856 (#434)
http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it ... ewsIndex=0

For a marriage the spouses must present their birth acts to the official. This is usually done when they request that their intent to marry be published (the Publicazione di Matrimonio) It is POSSIBLE that for one of the marriages, the clerk pulled the wrong act and recorded the parents that were listed. The births were only 10 months apart...

I will look for the publication of banns... perhaps the names are correct on there

EDIT TO ADD***
According to this publication request (#61 in 1880)... the mother of the groom was present to give her consent. She is listed on the document as Maria Teresa Margiotti, wife of deceased Francesco Imbornone.

Unfortuntely, the publication of banns for the year 1887 (the year Domenico married with Francesca) is missing...

Perhaps I can find a death for the "other" Domenico?"

EDIT TO ADD***

Found the death of the other Domenico Imbronone in 1918 in the house in Via S. Nicolo'
Father: deceased Francesco
Mother: deceased Maria Teresa Margiotta

Here are the 2 Domenico Imbornone's in my tree on Ancestry. I can't even establish that they are cousins of each other:
