Translation of Marriage Allegati Page

Post by maritalia »

I'm going through the Marriage Allegati of Sebastiano Cutrona and Vincenza Frazzetto, who married in 1857, and this last page I can't seem to decipher. I see the name Sebastiano Frazzetto on the page, which is Vincenza's grandfather, but not sure what it's referring to. I know both her father and grandfather were dead by the time of her marriage. Any help appreciated!

The record is an extracted copy of the death record of Sebastiano Frazzetto and is dated June 9, 1818. He was about age 35 at death, and the husband of Francesca (surname???), when he died this night about 6. The surname looks like Bortuna to me, but I found the original death record for the son Francesco in 1849, and the surname looks different in that record and in the index listing for the record. Sebastiano and Francesa were a married couple in the Carcarelli district or neighborhood, when he was alive. You should try to track down Francesca's death record to see if her surname is any clearer. I am wondering if it was supposed to Busacca, which is found in the town. It might be closer to that surname in the links below:

See the links below for the original 1849 death record and the index:

In the 1818 Death Record the surname is clearly Bortuna. It is not as clear in the other two links but I am also reading Bortuna in those links. I notice the surname Bortuna does exist in the province of Catania today.

Edit to Add: Bertuna is another possibility.

Francesca's death record and index below- (Sebastiano Frazzetto's widow)

She died on Oct 28, 1849 at age 75. She had been born in Licodia and was a villica (farmer) there. She was the daughter of deceased Giuseppe Bertuna and deceased Carmela Licciardi. I believe that Angela was correct with Bertuna.
