"Monticello, provincia di Terra Lavoro"
There are several ones:

Monticello, hamlet of Castel Morrone, province of Caserta
Monticello, hamlet of Arienzo, province of Caserta
Monticelli, hamlet of Esperia, province of Frosinone

all in what was once named "Terra di Lavoro"

He died in a hospital-the record is an extract from ospedale della Real Marina (in Castello???-might be at the end of the title across the top of the record). I think this was a military, possibly a naval, hospital, but I could be wrong about this. I think the person who wrote the original extract was a chaplain at that hospital. Not sure if anything in the link below would help:

Ok.
I see the Ospedale della Real Marina but was unsure of the exact meaning.
After a bit of looking around online, maybe it was a hospital ship of some type. So far I can't find anything definitive.

James
I'm thinking along the same lines as you, but can't find anything definitive either.

Erudita,
I found an obscure reference to a hospital near Formia which had something to do with the Navy but that would not correspond to 'in Castello' part.

James,
I apologise, but I thought you were interested in his place of birth.
As to the place where he died, it seems to be a hard search.
Yet, I've found that, in 1840, there were just two hospitals of the Royal Navy, one in Naples and the other in Castellammare (Castellammare di Stabia, I think)

Pippo,
Thanks for the link. The hospital in Napoli would make sense as it is close enough to Esperia. Then on the other hand, Castellammare corresponds with the Castello found in the heading.
I guess it may remain a mystery.

James
There are many abbreviations in these church records, and the word at the top may actually be Castellammare, as there is a curved line across the top of it which makes the l's look like t's, but the curved line could be an indication that there are missing letters in what I believe is the town name written across the top of the document. I'm just throwing this possibility out there for consideration. I'm not saying this is definitely the case. People like Pippo and mmogno are much better at reading these church records than I am.

Erudita,
you are right! I had not noticed the abbreviations; it is evident, particularly next to the date.
So, it is likely that it means "Castellammare", expecially because the last letter looks more like an "e" than an "o".

Hi Pippo
Hopefully, we're right, as I was worried that I had initially misled James.
