Imperial Chiappari Monreale marriage

Post by cj11788 »

Hello,

I'm hoping you can help me understanding the 1569 Monreale marriage for Imperial Chiappari.

The first link is the marriage index for Imperial Chiappari from April 18 1569 where his wife is Carolina Germano.

The second link is the actual certificate. In the certificate I don't even see Carolina Germano. I see something that looks like Carolina but not her last name. I do see Imperial where his parents are Andrea and Antonia.

Please help.

Chris

Hello,

Follow-up questions on Imperial Chiappari 1569 marriage.

Is it possible they were married at an earlier date; possibly years ago. I ask this because Imperial and Caradona's daughter Ippolita was married in 1566 and on her marriage certificate it mentions both parents so it's definitely the correct people. Any thoughts? Of course there isn't another marriage for them in Monreale!

What are Caradona's parents. It looks like Marco and Filippa?

Are just the parents from Calabria or are Imperial and Caradona also from Calabria?

On the last line of the certificate it mentions Imperial Chiappari again. Why is that?

Thanks

Chris

I read: Caradonna daughter of Marco, Then, first letter of mother's name doesn't seem to be an "f" to me. It looks more like a cross. So it might be Cristina di Fran(ces)co (X is used like in Xmas) but it's just a guess.

Thanks for looking at this Giuseppe.

One more question. On the last line of the certificate it mentions Imperial Chiappari again. Any reason on why that was done or am I not reading it correctly.

My guess is that it is a different record. Two lines for one (of your interest), and the lower two for another.
I hope someone can help, as they are hard to read for me.
However, I see that the last words of both records are different from the others in the page. It seems they state something like "fid**" followed by a name (Imperial Chiappari for the lower record), but I don't know what it means.
