Name Order

Post by darkerhorse »

In Italian records with the name order format - surname, given name, given name - which is the first name and which is the middle name?

For example, "Russo Antonia Sebastiana".

Is she Antonia Sebastiana Russo or Sebastiana Antonia Russo?

Are there exceptions or was a standard followed in Sicily?

There is no middle name, only given name (Antonia Sebastiana) and surname (Russo)

Okay.

In America she was called Ann or Annie. Was that likely a nickname for Antonia or for Sebastiana?
