Translating comments on Ospizio di Maternita (Torino) entry

Post by dbc2014 »

I was wondering if someone could help me translate the comments at the bottom right on this entry for my foundling ancestor. It appears to say: "prego lor signori diritore di tenere a ??? questa mia fillia e questa ??? che ??? che presto". There is one word that is blurred, and I am hoping someone might be able to read it and give me the overall context. (The photo came from the Torino archives and I can't travel there to get a better copy.) Thank you very much.

The blurred word might be "lettura" (letter).

He appears to be requesting that the officials take temporary possession of his daughter but that's just a guess.

It seems the transcription on the register of a note written by the mother and left with the child. It is written approximately, not in correct Italian, the missing words in your transcription seems: conto / lettera [?] / spero
and probably there were something else at the end.
The meaning seems to me this: "I ask Mr. Director to take care of this daughter of mine, and keep this letter, because I hope that soon...."
I'd complete so: "... I'll be able to come and take back her".
