song line translation

Post by nrepole »

Hi all
I was recently told that a relative of mine, in his youth (in the 1930s), was a handy organetto player...I believe they are the piano accordian instruments, and he would go about town singing sonnetos to young ladies. One particular little song went:
“bellezza mia di questo cuore tua madre ti ha cresciuta e io ti devo godere”

Just looking for a translation for this.

Kindest regards

Nick

I'd say "beauty of my heart, your mother raised you, and I have to enjoy you".
Well...mine is a rough translation, I'd say in Italian it sounds much more poetic.
