First Name trans....please

Post by jodilee »

Hello,

I need a quick translation for several first names, please.

Giovanni ????

Brarina ??? Blurred on record

Guiseppina ??? Spelling is blurred on birth record. I was always told my grandmothers name was Josephine Pepina Lucia Raffa

Several variations of the Carmen Carmello Carmine confuse me, Are they all the same basic name ???

I would love to have the Italian versions of FRANK, ANNE and VINCENT.

Thanks so Much..................Jodi

Could be Elisabetta... but you seem to see Brasina on your document...

Ambrosina?? (pretty name...)

It can be figured out...

If you wish, we can help you with "Brarina or Brasina" but we would need to link a viewable file to this post... such as a jpeg file or similar.

I have sent you a private message regarding this...

Given name link

The script is very clean and clear... but I've never seen this given name before!

It does look like Brasina.

Have you seen other records for Brasina?

It does not look like BRASINA........

but BRANINA.

One of our Italian posters would be more familiar with Italian given names.
Perhaps they will give an opinion.

Interesting, but if you put the name into a search database,

BRASINA comes up in Hamburg, Bosnia, and Serbia.

The name BRANINA, comes up as a hotel in Villablino.

I would guess that the name is actually a combination of two names.

But again, would need an expert opinion from Italy!!!!! :P

Hi There,

The name looks like Brasina to me.

It could be a short version of another name, as Ambrosina as Esperanza stated.

It also looked like the wrong spelling of Brianca. However, it doesn't look like Branina for there is a "hump" missing for the one of the "n".

What other documentation do you have on this person to verify her name.

Would like to see more documents with her name on it.

I've probably missed the bus here...but it's worth a try I guess.

Try this link -
http://www.behindthename.com/php/extra. ... =ambrogino

Then click on any of these 'possible' names and then on the r/h side click on 'Related Names'....

It's just that I thought it could be a derivative od Ambrosina.
