Is this your Carmela who married Nicola Balsamo? Her maiden name could be incorrect in this extraction, but the date of death matches what you provided in your post above.

I also found the 1867 marriage record (link below) of the Nicola Balsamo and Maria Carmela Corvetta that suanj refers to above. The date was July 11, 1867 #70. His parents were dec Angelo Balsamo and Carmina Jato. Her parents-the document states that she was of the Stabilimento dell'Annunziata di Napoli. He was age 21 and she was age 19 in the record. In other words, she was a foundling. I used the birth date of March 11, 1855 found in the NYC death info but cannot find her birth record among the Stabilmento's online records. You have to go page by page for each year, and the assigned surnames are in alphabetical order, which is making it difficult to locate the birth record of Maria Carmela Corvetta. I was hoping to locate it, in case it provides additional info which might help tie the info from the various records together, but it's too time consuming for me. Sorry. If you care to search, I will provide the link.
