Finding docs from Marigliano on Antenati

Post by carolc »

Hi

When using Antenati to find documents for someone born in Marigliano, where do I look? It's not a town listed when searching Archivio di Stato di Napoli.

Provincial boundaries change over time, so at least for the years 1823-1865, they are held by the Caserta archive.

Where do I look for documents after 1865. My great grandmother was born about 1888.

You will have to write to the comune and request the record from the office of "stato civile". Here is a link to the contact information:

http://www.comunemarigliano.it/UfficieS ... ozione.htm

You could try a request by fax, the PEC email address requires you to have a PEC account as well. Make sure to give as much information as possible, (parents' names, date of birth etc.) and include a copy of a valid ID (driver's license works).

Others on the board can help with the text of the request if you do not know how to write in Italian.

If you'd rather send snail mail, the mailing address is:

Ufficio Stato Civile
Comune di Marigliano
Piazza Municipio, 1
80034 Marigliano (NA)
ITALY
