San Gennaro Vesuviano records
San Gennaro Vesuviano records
Do online records in San Gennaro Vesuviano in Naples exist outside of the years 1841-1865 as seen here?

I know for some towns in Naples they were once apart of a nearby town in which most of those records go back to at least 1820 and I was wondering if this was also the case or I'm just a bit unlucky. Thanks!

Re: San Gennaro Vesuviano records
No, it seems that San Gennaro Vesuviano has been a Comune since 1841.
I checked the inventary of the Archivio di Stato di Napoli, and it seems that the registers are not there:

I'm not sure, but I'm inclined to think you are unlucky.

Re: San Gennaro Vesuviano records
I'm just finding that on the familysearch.org catalog it states "San Gennaro è ora soppresso ed alcuni registri si potrebbero trovare sotto Palma Campania." meaning that some of the older registrars are listed under the neighboring town "Palma Campania", and that does appear to be the case. Thank you for your reply!PippoM wrote: ↑27 Nov 2020, 22:16 No, it seems that San Gennaro Vesuviano has been a Comune since 1841.

Re: San Gennaro Vesuviano records
I've found where it states "San Gennaro è ora soppresso".
Can this be a zombie?

Either way, I have found several records that I've been searching for under Palma Campania from San Gennaro.
Re: San Gennaro Vesuviano records
That's the site of the Comune.
So, if it was suppressed = killed, but is still alive, it must be a zombie!
Before 1840, San Gennaro was part of Palma. What year are the registers you found under Palma of?

Re: San Gennaro Vesuviano records
Aha, yes!
It appears that from 1809, the beginning of the Palma records, to until 1841, the beginning of the San Gennaro records, San Gennaro records were listed together with Palma records.
