Footnote

Does anyone have a membership to this site?
How does it differ in content from Ancestry?

Hi wldspirit!
Yes, I do.
Very different database from ancestry.
Ancestry is much more extensive and always my 1st choice.
I use footnote for original naturalization documents and the growing list
of city directories.
The only duplicate records I've found on ancestry are the naturalization index cards.
The index search is free, full-sized document images require membership.
They do have a 3 day free trial.
Happy to look up anything you find in their index.

(the search feature allows partial name searches followed by an *)
Steve Morse has added a one-step page for searching footnote's naturalization records (most of them)

I think I'll try the free trial.....I'd like to find additional records on my side of the family for once......seems my husbands side is way to easy,
but I have more than one brickwall to get over!!!!

Thank you for the offer, I'll let you know if I should find something of interest.....

As for a subscription, I just don't want to make the same mistake I made with another site, horrible search feature and most of the content was duplicated by Ancestry!!!

Have a good one,
Lee
