My friend is researching his great grandfather, Andrew.
Andrew is born in Bulgaria or what he has found. He has also found Turkey mentioned.

Andrew was born on 30 November 1895 or 1893; on his WWI registration it is mentioned as Rasna, Bulgaria as his birth place. He lived in Webster, Mass and died there in 1970.
Married on 19 April 1920 in Webster, Ma to Catherine Czechowski

I've tried to search also but nothing new to add.

Anyone have any hints where to search or other clues that may help?

I have done a number of searches on various databases without much luck. My one recommendation would be to request his SS-5 documentation since he had a Social Security Number (https://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/sse ... cessSource).

It may help identify his parents. It is important to follow the following guidelines otherwise you will receive a blacked out copy.

I also suspect he may have changed his first name after entry into the US.
