Chudkosky Ancestors

Post by rp76226 »

My cousin's grandparents were Michael Chudkosky/Chudkowsky and Michelina Marsyzka. I have never been able to find their ancestors and could use some help. Here is what I know:

Michael was born On November 10, 1897 in Perebikauti, Bassarabia, Russia. He died January 1963 in New York. He arrived in the US in 1913, though the US and New York naturalization records (which correctly identifies his family - don't know why 2 records) give October 2 and November 30 as his arrival date, and one gives Austria and another, Russia as his country of origin. His son always said they came from Poland.
Michelina Marszycka was born in 1896 in Brezany, Austria and died of cancer on January 15, 1930 in New York. They were married in Manhattan, NY on February 9, 1919 and had 3 sons - Nicholas, Walter, and Joseph. After she died, Michael put his sons in an orphanage and went back to Europe (Germany). He married Maria Lucniak, had two daughters - Helen and Rita, and came back to the US with them November 2 1934 (and still left his sons in the orphanage).

Any help finding their ancestors would be appreciated.

There are church records viewable online from FamilySearch for his place of birth - they are in Russian.
