Re: Index indicates record exists, not showing up in register

Thanks so much for the information. Unfortunate that the supplement is missing.

Index indicates record exists, not showing up in register

Hello,

I am hoping somebody can help me understand whether the pages containing the record I am searching for were omitted from the digitized death register, or if I am just not searching properly. According to the index, the death record for Caterina Bartolini should be no. 207 in the 1878 ...

Date on 1834 Latin marriage record

Can somebody decipher the exact date of the Calcagno/Formica marriage? It looks like January - 18th (or something else)?

Thanks!

Re: Bit of help with Latin death record

Now I am thinking it says "e Cinzano" (i.e., she was originally from the town of Cinzano). Still uncertain about the number (something with a five - 15, 55?) in the record - is it her age or date of death? The entries just above and just below are February, so this death must have been occurred in ...

Bit of help with Latin death record

Teresa Rossotto (about halfway down the page):

I don't understand what is written just after her name, and before the words stating that she is the wife of living Felice Fina (looks like "elinzano" or "e linzano"?). I was hoping to get parent's names, but unfortunately don't see any info about them ...

Re: Castiglione

Pippo,

Thank you so much! I think that explains it! I looked again at another year, and the surnames are definitely consistent with CT (of course, all will be confirmed once I find a known couple). Some of the town names on these films are written in Italian and others (such as this one) in Latin ...

Re: Castiglione

Looking at the Cs again, there is one location name that I cannot identify (on the list) - and the surnames seem to be familiar. Image with commune name is attached - could this be an old name for Castiglione? It seems very different, but not sure what other place it may refer to.

Re: Castiglione

I'm posting an update, since part of the mystery is now solved - my "Castiglione" image was actually "Pratiglione"! The first couple of letters were chopped off on my scans, and I assumed the word was Castiglione", but after checking a different film today I realized it was in fact Pratiglione ...

Re: Castiglione

Thank you for identifying those towns starting with P! Sorry if I wasn't clear. What is attached is a town apparently named "Castglione", but it's very unlikely (99%) to be the Castiglione Torinese I am looking for. As I mentioned, the record was placed among the Ps in the church book (film ...

Re: Castiglione

Hi Pippo,

Thanks for the response. CT does appear in the list (though slightly out of order, between Cavour and Castagnetto), as well as Cordova (I did find Cordova on the films, just not CT). But that is a good point about some other place previously being named Castiglione. I didn't realize there ...

Castiglione

I have been researching parish records from the province of Turin (available on microfilm from Family Search) :

https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/414653?availability=Family%20History%20Library

These films are organized such that each film typically contains records for a single year from ...

Re: help with a couple of words on death record

Thanks Livio,

I also thought I was seeing Vte - just wasn't sure if an extra "e" was omitted, or if it was an abbreviation. "Vivente" it must be. Thank you again, both!
