... Salerno, and have found two fermina’s but both have different surnames to my relatives . My relative Fermina married Salvatore Mansi. And she was raised by a Alfonso and a rachele cioffi. I’d like to know if was common for the foundling to change the surnames they were given? Thanks in advance. Lucie

Re: Foundling Records
In the marriage record it is clearly written that Fermina was a foundling, given into the care of Alfonso Ruocco and Rachele Cioffi
The documentation on foundlings is kept in the Salerno State Archives.

In any case, there are some dark sides to this story.
In the tree, Firmina's paternity is assigned to Alfonso Ruocco who was certainly Rachele Cioffi's husband and widower, it is stated on his death act, but on the marriage certificate it is written that Fermina was proietta and “figlia ...

Foundling Records
Hi. I’m having trouble finding my GG Grandmothers birth record? ( I can’t remember his name) Her name was Fermina di stasio married to Salvatore ...

Re: Tomaso Allio
So you reference a Tomasso as a grandfather to my Tomaso and all indications are he is the grandfather. Looking everywhere for the gap. Your site shows a Rachele Allio married to a Carlo Dama. I think she lived in the same household as my Tomasso at some point?

The first witness on record 53 looks like Felice Santoro. Vincenzo mentioned by Angela is on record 52 on the left. The witness Federico is also on record #52, not #53. The other witness on #53 is Luigi Minichini. He’s also a witness on record #55.
