Re: Translation of certificates

One of the remaining records is not a marriage, but the application for publication of banns. It is dated Nov 17, and banns were posted on days 23 and 30.
The info about the spouses is more or less the same in the two records.

Re: Nardelli's and Perini's from Atina

Alfredo Perini, as you said, was a foundling.
The midwife Luigia Ronconi, 28 years old, declared the birth. The baby was born on Oct 31st, 1903 in a home situated in via del Giardino. The mother was "a woman who doesn't want to be mentioned". The midwife gave the baby personal name Alfredo and ...

Re: Seeking help to find Nicastro address from 1889

You might try on some Facebook group of the town.
My guess is that people still use such toponym, though it's not shown in official maps.
I'm sure you'll find it, if you go there and ask.

Re: Help reading document

The picture is of poor quality, but after the name "Josephum" it might read "parentib. incog." = "parentibus incognitis" = "unknown parents".
Vincenza's parents were Gaetano ("Cajetani"), and Pasqua ("Paschae") Bellavia.
The first digit of the day seems to be "2", but I can't read if there's another ...

Re: Question regarding translation

Italian surnames were not "formally" defined until about 1900.
I mean that there was no rule, it was only the use that "made" the surname.

Re: Looking for street in Castlegrande

Hello,
if this is the record:

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903 ... 4501&i=165

The correct reading is "via Municipio", that would be the street where the Town Hall was located at that time.
