Re: Discorde in the Family
What I meant is that, when I replied, I was wondering if you had some problem with the comprehension of Italian language, or you wanted to know what was beyond the disagreement. As I had not read the document, I could not give an answer...I could only say what the meaning in Italian was. By reading ...

Re: finding family records in Scafati and Atrani
Atrani is still a very beautiful place, even if a it must have changed a lot since 1961, above all in the way of life of people. On the contrary, Scafati is a horrible town with a lot of traffic.

My experience with this area is that clerks are not used to e-mailing, even if we are in the 3rd millennium...you can hope in an exception!
Do you know Atrani, or have you ever seen it in pictures?

Re: finding family records in Scafati and Atrani
There are various kinds of records:
- In offices of the Commune you will find births, marriages and deaths ("Stato Civile" records). In Southern Italy, these are generaly from about 1809 onwards. Communes also hold "Stato di famiglia", but I think these are only from 1930 (but I'm not sure).
