Re: Improve This 1811 Riveli Translation

The extent of one "tomolo" varied depending on the area (province).
In Siracusa it corresponds to 1744 square metres.

Re: Finding my grandad, Italian POW in the UK

Io ho ottenuto un documento analogo dalla Croce Rossa per mio nonno, e questo riporta dei "Pow Camp number", dai quali sono potuto risalire alla locazione effettiva dei campi di detenzione.
Nel tuo documento non sono indicati?

Re: Alcamo birth

This is an index. Maybe you can find the original register, where the record should be at page 380.

Re: Found Italian birth certificates, not sure the next step

I don't think you need a genealogist. Read Ann's posts and try yourself.
Then, if you have issues, come back to the Forum.

Re: Improve This 1811 Riveli Translation

This record is in the section for a town named Melilli. I find no town named Metti in the area. Metti sounds like the word for place but I'm thinking what we read as Metti is probably Melilli written hurriedly. Yes, I think we commented that in another thread. It's not a double "t", yet a...

I read "An Ni".
It might be Antonio Nicola, but it's just a guess.

Re: Tormena family and winery

I think you better ask at the winery, before, if they know the names of their ancestors, and/or it is told in their family of someone who emigrated.

Re: Help with information on a birth record

I'd say he got married on Oct 18th, 1913.
I read mother's name is Margherita Mabito (?).
The notation on the bottom left is about the check of the register.

Re: Birth Translation for Giovannna

Yes, she was a foundling, found in the wheel on Feb 25th. It seems that the Registrar did not give her a surname.
She didn't have any mark on her body. It is not said who she was given to for raising.

Re: Peruta Nascita translation

He was baptized in the Church of San Tommaso a Capuana (center of City, quartiere San Lorenzo).
His parents lived "in the buildings of the Banco dei Poveri, in the Caserti area". It seems there is a church of San Nicola dei Caserti in San Lorenzo, so, it must be in the same area.
