Re: IGNAZIO family

Thank you, I read it all. Was very helpful. But my great-grandfather was not a foundling. He was given a name, Carmeloni Ignazio. He was taken in by the Della Valle family. This is all I know.

Re: IGNAZIO family

hi Debbie. thanks for the info. That census is certainly my family. Those are Carmeloni's children. I have all the info on the relatives born in the US. I need to know about Carmeloni. Since he was adopted, I don't know if I'll find much. His marriage license states that his parents were "unknown". ...

IGNAZIO family

I am searching for anyone with the surname Ignazio. I am hoping we are related and can help each other. My great-grandfather was Carmeloni Ignazio. He did not know his birth parents and was raised by the Della Valle family. He came to America, New York, in 1899 I think. He married my great-grandmoth...

GRAZIANO family

I am searching for my great-grandfather Modesto Graziano. He died young and we do not know much about him. I know that he was born around 1871 in Italy. I think he was from the same town as my great-grandmother, which was Pescasseroli, L'Aquila, Abruzzo. I do not know when he migrated to the US or w...

Re: Not a "brick wall" but the "GREAT WALL of

Ok I will send a request. Do I go by the Ellis Island name and dates, or do I go by the New York City marriage license name and dates?

Re: Not a "brick wall" but the "GREAT WALL of

Hi Riccardo. I have seen that post on the Ellis Island site. What concerns me about that is that they have him listed as Ignazio Carmeloni. Not Carmeloni Ignazio. And the birth year doesn't match. So I cannot determine if this is his record or not. Also, his marriage record lists his birthplace as P...

Not a "brick wall" but the "GREAT WALL of Chi

I cannot find anything on my great-grandfather, Carmeloni Ignazio. Forget hitting a brick wall - this is the Great Wall of China! I know that he was born around 1882. I always heard stories that he was from Piedmont, but on his marriage certificate it says he is from Pavia, which is in Lombardia. Al...
