You did not say anything about obtaining her civil birth record from the Anagrafe (census)/Stato Civile office(birth,marriage and death certificates) which are normally free. Perhaps if you send an e-mail to anagrafe@comune.linguaglossa.ct.it with a form letter in Italian which you will find in the ...

How far did you get in tracing your irish ancestry? What part of Ireland did the irish side came from since those on the east used to paddle over to the English side and join the Roman army which was led by the Roman Centurions while the locals joined the infantry.....It got so bad that Rome sent in...

The First Holy Roman Emperor crowned in Sicily by the Pope was German who married a Sicilian Queen in Sicily. Surname changes occur over the centuries (my own surname changed 6 times over an almost millennium period) and I daresay that whatever the letter or letters that changed occureds then the "new" spelling becomes the correct spelling if the change is overlooked or goes unnoticed. Peter
