Tojomi

The advice given in preparing your search prior to searching any records in Italy is good.

However please note that your ancestors Capaldi will have definitely come from the Cassino area Frosinone not from Casino which is a totally different place.

Please note the spellings

Re: Joseph Cherrozlei - what is his real Italian name?

Brian

As you say that he was involved in making figurines he most likely came from Barga, Tuscany

If you go to this site it will give you all the names in the Barga area

http://www.italyworldclub.com/genealogy ... a-1841.htm

One possibility may be "Del Checcolo"

Re: Best way to keep track of family tree?

Caroline Thanks for the comments. As you say excel is so easy to use. Also at a glance you can have a section of your tree printed and available on your desk. I also take notes in my jotter and continue to refer to them and as you say, saves losing scraps of paper. I also use a Family Group Form and...

Re: Best way to keep track of family tree?

Caroline I use excel spreadsheets. You have still to maintain a manageable number. So I start from great grandparents i.e 8 spreadsheets one for each gr grandparent. Spreadsheets are easy to draw the lines also you can view siblings and cousins in row by row. Also when printing on excel each spreads...
