Re: Translation please
Hi adelfio
If you click on the image once or twice it minimises it into a screen were you can use the bars to slide up/down and sideways too.
Hope it works!

Translation please
Hi all
My Italian is not too bad, but I have trouble reading Italian handwriting (especially on the military records 'Lista di Leva'). Can someone please translate?
Many thanks

Wouldn't you know it. As soon as I complain about the delay and the problems I was having getting the military records of my relatives...they have arrived!! So thank you to the Archivio di Potenza for that. And next time I will be a little more patient and more confident that they are trying to prov...

Advice please
Hi all In early January I emailed the Archives in Potenza (Italy) to see if they had military records (Lista di Leva) for a couple of my relatives. They emailed back after a couple of weeks to tell me that they had found the records and it would cost 3 euro. I quickly despatched 5 euro (including a ...

Re: What was he doing at Le Havre???
Thank you Livio. Interesting article. So I guess he hopped on a train and made his way to France then. He must have been very desperate to get out of his town, Rapone.

What was he doing at Le Havre???
Hi all A question. My relative, Antonio Repole made the trip to New York from the port of Le Havre, France in April, 1914. He was 18 years old at the time. Now, he came from a small town, Rapone, in Basilicata region (southern Italy). So the natural port to emigrate from was Naples. As he did not pe...

Re: Bush boy???
Very well done. Thank you.
I think I have got it. A brush boy probably makes reference to a shoe shine boy, as they were quite common in barbershops in those days. They were equipped with polish and brushes so I think that was his occupation.
Am I right????

Re: Bush boy???
My relative's occupation was 'laborer' in 1920 naturalization paper and 'barber shop' in 1920 census. So I don't know if 'bush boy' relates more to barbershop or laborer duties??? Or something else???

Bush boy???
Hi there
Does anybody know what the occupation of 'Bush boy' entailed? I know that my relative worked in a barber shop around this time, so could it mean he was a 'beard' specialist?????
Regards
