Re: Need help to find relatives

Hi Fred, You can access Ellis Island records by ship, then by date. However, I haven't been able to access by date first, then by ship. If you click on link under Passenger Search for "search by ship" you will get an alphabet. After choosing the first letter of the ship name you will have ...

Re: Short paragraph please

You're welcome, I hope the documents will be sent soon, from Sorano, that I urge daily my friends. I did not notice the twins, though. I can see that the only direct relative is Felicina, granddaughter of my father, Giuseppe Biagiani 1902, and sister of Piero Biagianti, another first cousin, and fat...

Re: Location within Cosenza

There is a Castrovillari (dould it have been written "C.villari"?) about 35 km north of Malvito.

Don't know if that will help...

Thanks Peter. I couldn't read the manifest very well, and should have looked it up before I posted.

Re: document to translate

Antonia was the child of Francesco Mattora and Maria Clemente. She was the wife of Alfonso.

I always found it interesting that the husband was named after the parents

Re: DiLaura in Foggia

You're welcome!

FYI - The ports of departure are listed as Genoa and Bremen for that ship.

Also - Domenico is on the manifest as a male, not a female as I stated. Sorry... :-(

Re: DiLaura in Foggia

Hi Jim, I found your uncle's mother, Virgina; brother, Pasquale; and sister, Domenica, on a ship's manifest. The manifest is VERY difficult to read in it's original view on Ancestry. Maybe you can take a look at it yourself, or try to find it on ellisisland.org using the following information: Ship:...

Re: DiLaura in Foggia

Ok...I'll keep looking.
In the 1910 Census I noticed that Ercole's wife Virigina is deceased. Her death record may offer some insight into her place of birth if you don't have a town of origin yet.

Re: DiLaura in Foggia
