Re: Nicola Troisi and Camine Luce

Here is the birth act of Giuseppe Troisi on 21 February 1893 in Montefredane. His father Luigi is age 42 ( birth about 1851) , and mother Maria Luce is age 40 ( birth about 1853 ) http://dl.antenati.san.beniculturali.it/v/Archivio+di+Stato+di+Avellino/Stato+civile+italiano/Montefredane/Nati/1893/927...

Re: Great-Grandfather

Thank you so much! This is great. I'll continue to research on her ex-husband/ my great-great grandfather ! I would not call a deceased spouse an ex-husband. She was clearly listed as a widow on the manifest. To be clear - were they crossed off of the February manifest because they ended up on the ...

Nice find Marty! The key bit of information on the manifest is that Maria Vento is a widow . Ship is SS Cambraman, arriving 25 February 1903 in port of Boston Maria is age 29, Lucia is age 7, and Giuseppe is 2. Difficult to read, but it looks like she was going to her mother? Maria. ??? https://medi...

Re: Great-Grandfather

What is the name of Joseph/Giuseppe's mother and sister?

When did they immigrate? Do you have the arrival manifest?

Just in case you did not notice...

There is a notation in the margin of Maria Giovanna's death in Molfetta on 9 July 1988.

Re: DiMichelangelo? di Mechelangelo? Confusing retyped record

The names of the godfathers follow the same format...

Domenico son of deceased Andrea della Cecca of the Parish of Rosciano
And
Eusebio son of Francesco Canella of this Parish.

Re: DiMichelangelo? di Mechelangelo? Confusing retyped record

My two cents... The format of this record as you posted is: Child's given name - father's given name - grandfather's given name - surname THEN... mother's given name - grandfather's given name - surname. It reads: Antonio Michele Gaspero, son of Domenico [son of deceased Antonio] Pianosi , AND Franc...

Re: Help finding baptism record in Lanzada, Sondrio

Was Pietro married in Lanzada? If you can find the allegati (attachments to the marriage) it should have a copy of his birth act. While the digitized records for Lanzada begin in 1866, the civil records date further back. I would suggest writing to the comune of Lanzada to request Pietro's birth act...

Re: Italian record snippet translation

The document presented was the certificate of publication run in this town, the first on the 20th, and the second on 27th November last.
I read the present act to all the participants and only I signed (official) because the others were illiterate.
