He was age 60, and the widower of Giuseppa.
He was the son of deceased Salvatore, and deceased Rosa Cutrona(?)

Giuseppa is described as "sposa di Giacomo."
If he were deceased, she would be described as vedova di Giacomo - widow of Giacomo.
So he is living at the time of her death.

This is the death act for Giuseppa Mastropolo, age 50, wife of Giacomo Trentacosta.
She died on 8 March 1839 and was the daughter of deceased Ciro, and of deceased Giulia Arobello(?)

Can you post a link to the entire document? It would help to know the Province/Region... and the town of birth.

It looks like it could be Castelfranco...but there are 4 or 5.
Possibly... Castelfranco in Miscano, [Benevento], Campania
