Re: Angelo Raffaele Stoppa

Thanks Tessa. Are you able to tell me anything more about Luigi and Giovanni Stoppa who both died in Turin? Did they marry? I know all about Celestino (my grandfather) and Carlo who both came to England, but I would love to fill in the two missing links. Can you or anyone help? Thank you. The dates...

Re: town of birth

I believe you are reading correctly as Saline.

Margherita di Savoia in Foggia was known as Saline.

Re: Was this the groom's first marriage?

The poster stated that the couple immigrated to USA in 1881
It is likely they died there, and not in Italy.

Re: Was this the groom's first marriage?

If he was a widower, the death act of his first wife would have been listed on page two among the documents presented to the official for the marriage. No death act is listed.

Re: Check Google Translation?

A question...I found Raffaele Domenico Carrabia's birth record (see attached). I think they are living at "Grada San Marco"...would that be the street in Pacentro they were living at when he was born? This is "Strada San Marco" which is San Marco road. Yes, the place they lived ...

Re: Assistance with missing birth acts

Luigi's father, Antonio Maulella, died 19 January 1829. He was the husband (acutally widower) of Battista Vita.

Luigi's mother, Battista Vita, died 26 August 1826. She was the wife of Antonio Maulella.

Re: Assistance with missing birth acts

Be happy to look at them!

The death of Luigi's grandfather, Orazio Maulella, is attested by the parish. It gives no details that I can see, including the year, but only that he is deceased. And that this was provided for the marriage of Luigi.

More to come
