"Authenticating" and getting an "Apostille" are two different things. Documents such as BC/DC/MC require an Apostille from the US jurisdiction from whence they came. That is the correct form to be used for marriage amendments. View http://www.nyc.gov/html/doh/html/vr/vr-birth-cert-correction.shtml to locate the information about birth and death certificate amendments. If the document was issued by the municipal archives then they can not be amended. A certified ...

You mention that your documents are NY documents. Are they NYC/NY documents? I've had documents at NYC/Worth Street and found the staff there accommodating and understanding. My understanding that amending NY documents via Albany (births/deaths/marriages outside NYC jurisdiction) is more difficult

What happens after the appointment?

Hi ... Does anyone know what happens - exactly whats is the process - after one has their appointment and submits their documents to the Consular officer during the "wait" period? Does the Consulate just re-review everything on their own, are all the documents reviewed in Rome, the Commune? Just cur...

Hi ... So, FMI, did they keep any of the documents at your first meeting? I thought they keep what is correct and then ask for others to supplement the file

Actually, with the exemplification letter in hand, one has to go to 60 Centre Street 3rd floor before going to NYS Dept of State 123 William St 19th Floor. ... otherwise the guy at 123 William St will say ... "This is not ready for us" Also, I would think, if you have a long form certificate issued ...

I received my e-mail confirming my appointment w/in 24 hours of making the appointment w/ ABTRAN

The "premium" number just adds the cost of the call/service amount to your phone bill

In that regard you could also look up the ship arrival manifest (Ellis Island . Org). At times they indicated if it was a primary or secondary visit/arrival into the USA
