Palermo

Most of my research has been in Caltanissetta, Sicily, Italy, Civil Registration Records, 1866-1939

However I want to look up someone in Palermo so what would I look that up under?

Thanks,

Ray

Crivellatore

Trying to figure out what this word is in Sicilian. I can't find it in my book of jobs.

It shows up in a town book for my family as well as referenced in death documents.

Not sure what it means.

5 Bis

I can not remember what 5 bis instead of a catalog number means?

Does anyone know I have been up and down the card catalog trying to find a
document. Never found it but it was supposed to be located at number 5
with bis in small letters.

Sicilian marriage documents.

Re: Town Book

I will try later, having scanner issues. Sure am having issues with this section of the book on my family. I get the general idea from the book who is who however there is a lot of information if you can make it out.

Re: Don vs D2

Sure looks like a D with a 2 off to the top right. Like D "squared".
I don't know, could be an small a as well…..I was wondering if anyone has seen the
D2 before. So since this relative is a Don and his wife has the D2 does this mean her father was a Don as well?

Don vs D2

I have a relative in Sicily whose name begins with Don, he is a first born however his daughter in the town book has D2 before the name is that because the father is Don?

I heard if a first born female has Donna as a first name its to honor the father who is a Don.

What are your takes on this?

Town Book

I have a book written in a town in Sicily. I don't really understand this: Giuseppa - Je 5.11.1795 sposi con Giuseppe Santangelo di Liborio e di Ignazia then there is a circle with a line down the middle vertically then 'Olnea; I read Giuseppa is spouse of/with Giuseppe Santangelo of Liborio & o...

Re: Italian translator to English

Well you did that very nice too bad your not reading these. I have received some important ones where they are explaining a photo or telling me their children's names but its hard to know who goes with who because of the way the translator does it. But the above is easy to understand. LOL….thank you.
