This is written confusingly but this helps to clear it up: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/64205863/salvatore-migliaccio His mother can be found on the 1940 census and this appears to be a manifest for her: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33SQ-GP14-PT4?i=841&cc=1923888&person...

Re: Birth record

I noticed that the indices for 1891 are missing the "A's". It seems like the page which would hold the surnames beginning with letter "A" has been ripped out, so you may want to search that year page by page, starting from late July. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3...

Re: Help with Queirolo Family Mystery!

Queirolo can be found in Genoa and many nearby villages as well as the area immediately surrounding Rapallo. It also looks like he is living with a younger sister Caterina on the 1871 census which will be important to help find the right family. This looks like a marriage for his uncle which gives h...

Re: searching for family

So you think the Irene CONTESSA (née Fumagalli) aged 31 listed in the New York 1940 census as daughter of Jack and Louisa (and Mary/Maria's older sister) is the same Irene Fumagalli born on Oct. 24th, 1908 in the town of San Giovanni alla Castagna, daughter of Antonio Fumagalli and Luisa Spreafico?...

There is really only one Mary/Maria Fumagalli in the New York 1940 census living in Brooklyn with her family: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QS7-89MY-RXTY?personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AKQRD-QMC This particular family was from the San Giovanni neighborhood in Lecco, Como. Re: Comparing Notes

Getting the names of people born in the early 1700s is very realistic, even if all you have to use are civil registration records.

My farthest Sicilian line goes 15 generations, someone born right around the beginning of the 1500s. In southern Italy, more like 10 g...
