Italian identification number?

Over 25 million Italians have emigrated between 1861 and 1960 with a migration boom between 1871 and 1915 when over 13,5 million emigrants left the country for European and overseas destinations.

Italian identification number?

Post by Pasio »

Hi

I am hoping someone might know valuable info with regards to Italian identification numbers? Does this type of thing exist?

On my great grandfathers death certificate it says his identification number is 365138753 W. Is this a typical Italian identification number?

It does not look like a modern Codice Fiscale number (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codice_Fiscale ), but possibly an older style number with a similar purpose?

Where/when did he die?
