Researching Italian Fanily History

Post by dreamoore13 »

Hello All,

I am new to this forum and new to researching the family history. I have a few family names that I am trying to research. If any one knows of good places to look for information, I'd appreciate a heads up.
The names are as follows:
Agenese Ceragioli (Corsanico, Italy) - I have her date of passage to the US, but am looking for information predating that, i.e. mother, father, etc
Louis Cortopassi (I think Corsanico as well). I have his date of passage to the US, but am looking for information predating that.
Luigi Greco (Catania, Sicilia, Italy) - I can't seem to find an accurate date of passage (according to my grandpa, Luigi came over in the late 1800s from Sicily with his with Francesca).
Giovanni Obertelli (Genova, Italy). I have a date of passage, although my grandpa says it's incorrect.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

You say you have the dates of passage, but have you seen the actual manifests? They can contain a great deal of information about family in Italy which would be helpful for your search.
