Still looking for Gazzarari/Gazzarini/Guazzarini

Post by bjd0119 »

My grandparents were Louis and Maria Gazzarari. She was from Montese, Modena and he was from we believe Bologna. Documents list the last name as also Gazzarini and Guazzarini. I would appreciate any info regarding their parents and siblings. Thank you.

Welcome to the forum! :-)

What documents do you have so we don't duplicate efforts? Census, manifests, naturalizations? Could you provide details about birth years and immigration to help us in our search? We will do our best to assist.

Thanks for your help. Luigi Gazzarini saling out of Germany looks like the one. It is hard to read the relative's name...maybe a brother-in-law? And I can't make out the first name of his father either. I do have military service records for Louis Gazzarari already. Also census records as well. Just trying to piece together the earlier times. Thanks again!

If Luigi (Louis) had a social security number, you can write away to Social Security Administration for a copy of his SS Application. This record will contain the names of his parents, and his town/city of birth.

Thank you Tessa78. Great information and I will certainly be sending a request to SSA. Also thanks for deciphering the names for me.
