Need more help looking for

Post by pande12404 »

I have come to a standstill tracing my ancesty. I did find out that Benjamino Pellegrini came here in 1903 and Pia Arrigoni came the following year with an infant son (FranK), my grandfather. Not sure Ben & Pia were married when they got here. I think they met in Chicago. Frank, the infant, is not Ben's biological son. It listed that Pia was staying in Chicago with her mother-in-law Eugenia Arrigoni, which is confusing to me. So I'm not sure if Arrigoni is Pia's maiden name. I know it list her birth place as Massa Macinaro. My father was told that his father, Frank, father was French. My father is very excited at what I have uncovered and asked that I keep digging. Thank you all for the help.

Were the records found on your previous post correct?

Do you have these two manifests?

Could the town be Massa Macinaia, comune of Capannori, province of Lucca, Tuscany region?

Thank you

I have new info but have come to a standstill. Pia ? was married to a Corrado Arrigoni when she came to the states. She stayed with her mother-in-law, Eugenia Arrigoni in Chicago. I think she disgraced the church and left Corrado and either married or lived in sin with Ben. She did immigrate with an infant son. named Frank, my grandfather. Benjamin or beney Pellegrini worked at Oscar Mayer in Chicago for a time and on a railroad. That's all the info I have as now. I'm getting some of this from my father. Who thankfully is still alive. Edouard Stevens Green.

Thank you for the update.
What is the date on this manifest?
Was it a New York arrival?
Did Pia travel under the name Arrigoni (she normally would be listed under her maiden name unless she were travelling with her husband)
What surname was Frank listed under?

Thank you

Here is a manifest for Pia. It lists her mother as Erminia Gianetti. She must have gone back and forth a lot.

My grandfather, Frank, was born January 7,1900 in Italy to mother Pia. Applied for citizenship papers under the name of Franklin Louis Green. I don't know when or where he applied for these papers. He married Mildred Louise Stevens and had a son Edouard Stevens Green. My father. I want to go beyond this knowlege. I would like to know my Italian heritege.

Not the same Pia. She passed before 1961, I'm not sure of the year she passed.
