Welcome to this forum. There are a lot of us on this forum who would like to help you, but you need to post some specific information concerning what you already know about your ancestors in order for us to be able to do so. We need some first names, dates that you might know, where they lived in the U.S. or in Italy ( if you know), if you already have any documents in your possession so we don't duplicate what you already have, etc.

My grandfather was Peter Joseph Tergliafera who was born in Genoa about 1905. He arrived in the United States around 1911. My grandmother was Angela Marie Guidi who was also born in Genoa about 1907 and she arrived in the States around the same time. My father was born in Springfield, Mass. When he was baptized, he was baptized as Thomas R Tagliaferro. What I have heard from other distant family members, that all the variations of our names, the Tergliafera, Tagliaferro, all came from the original spelling of Tagliaferri. Any clarification on this would sure help me in defining my family tree.
Thank You

In the current Italian white pages for Genoa, the spelling of the surname is both Tagliaferro and Tagliaferri.

I know that you said abt 1911 immigration year... and Genova as birth place... but if you can provide the Peter J parent's names, maybe it could be helpful for to find the right ship's manifest and so the right birthplace, because otherise it is impossible to find the right relatives....

I am looking for Di Gesaro, Isnello Sicily. I found that name was on 1811 Census for the town. I was trying to trace that name before 1811 in Sicily or Italy and can not find it anywhere. Does anyone have any information of this family and their orgins?

Roxe
Hello and welcome to this forum. You need to start a separate thread with the surname you are researching, as you have mistakenly linked your request to someone else's thread, which is not fair to that person or to you. Once you have done that, I or someone else on this forum will respond to your question.

That's okay, I'll try to walk you through this. Go back to the home page of this website by looking at the menu box on top left of this page. Click on Home. Then go to the first category (in the middle section) which says Italian Genealogy and click on that. Go down to the bottom of that page where it says New topic (on the left) and click on that. Now you have a place to put the surname you are researching and your message in the box.

hello, Thomas: I found you online after searching for Irville Tergliafera on behalf of my father, Peter Trinchero. Peter is Jeanne's (Regina Tergliafera Trinchero) son. I am Peter's daughter, Christina. I am sorry to hear that Irville's health is declining. Good to connect with you here. Best, Christina

Thank You for responding. I have spoken to a couple of Irville grandchildren online, and I an waiting for more information from them. Irville was my grandfathers' brother Peter Joseph Tergliafera. Do you happen to know where they were born in Italy/ This would be a great help in finishing my family tree. Also there have been many variations to the spelling of the last name, if you know the correct one could you please send it to me.
Thank You so muc again

My mother was Peter's daughter, Dolores. I believe you are my cousin.
